Half Moon Cafe: 23/03/2020 to 29/05/2020
Half Moon Cafe is a small family-run takeaway and sit-down cafe specialising in Egyptian-style falafels and kebabs. What stands out as being memorable about this space is Half Moon’s famous tasty broad bean falafels, the vibrant colours of the fresh ingredient display, and the rich sense of community that surrounds Half Moon Cafe.
Nabil, the owner of Half Moon Cafe, describes simply “people” as being his favourite part of working at the cafe. If you have ever eaten out the front of Half Moon Cafe you will know that it isn’t uncommon for Nabil to join you for a chat.
Upon the closure of non-essential services in Victoria 23/03/2020, Nabil decided to close shop 27/03. As it was the first time that the cafe has closed its doors in some time, Nabil was very grateful for an opportunity to spend some quality time with family. When customers began contacting Nabil to re-open, it was Nabil’s devotion to the cafe’s community of regulars that led the doors to open once again.
Last week Nabil and son Sharif re-entered the space and re-opened after nearly 8 weeks of closing. Whilst the tables and chairs were stacked, regular customers returned for their favourite wraps take-away.
