Lola Fortune is a hairdressing salon based in Brunswick on Sydney Rd. Often booked out for months, Lola fortune is a very popular salon due to their amazing skills, friendly service and focus on sustainability and community.
When new Stage One restriction were implemented in Australia, Molly, the director in collaboration with her team, was one of the first businesses on Sydney rd to voluntarily shutdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Lola Fortune was closed for over a month whilst haircuts were seen as an, “essential service”. Lola Fortune made a very considered and hard decision to reopen as the longterm shutdown was not sustainable for the small business. Before Covid-19, there were up to 4 people working in the salon at one time. Now a maximum of 2 hairdressers are aloud to work in the space whilst having to stand by extensive sanitisation responsibilities.
